This is an overview of our frequently asked questions and answers. Hopefully you will find quick clarification for pressing questions here.
Booking
How can I make a reservation?

Rather not call because we prefer to have the staff - given the shortage in the market - take care of our guests.

How can I change a reservation?

Use the link in your confirmation email to modify a desired reservation and change the date or time. You will receive this email automatically after making a reservation, provided you entered a valid E-mail address, of course. So pay attention to that!

How can I cancel a reservation?

Use the link in your confirmation email to cancel or cancel a desired reservation.Cancel up to 24 hours in advance. If you get an error message, you are trying to cancel too short in advance. In that case: please call!

How do I know if there is space on my desired date?

If you reserve online you can choose your desired date and time slot, then there is space and you are guaranteed that day and time.If there is no space for you and your guests, you cannot choose those dates and time slots. No use calling! Full is full.

I entered everything online but can't select a service! Everything is grayed out and not selectable.

If you have entered the date, a time slot and the number of people but you cannot choose from our "services" (a la carte, high tea, high cocktail or high gin, theater menu, etc) then there is no available table for your group.Please reduce the number of people or choose another day.

Can I make reservations for the terrace? We would like to sit outside.

You cannot make special reservations for the terrace. A reservation is valid for both inside and outside. Upon arrival you can ask if you can sit outside. If available, you will be given an outside table.

Can I make reservations in advance for next month?

You can make a reservation with us for tomorrow but also for 6 months from now. Up to 180 days in advance. At least one hour in advance.

Can I order in advance?

We do not allow you to pre-order menus and link that to a reservation.

Groups
We are a group of friends, family or roommates but larger than 12, is it possible?

In Rotterdam, no, the maximum group size we can provide is 12 people, regardless of your relationship, history, background or band. We do not have enough staff to provide this service.In The Hague, please inquire by E-mail about the possibility for groups larger than 12 people. This depends on the chosen day.

We are a business group but more than 20 people, is it possible?

In Rotterdam, no, sorry, we cannot accommodate groups of more than 20 people comfortably and provide good service. We do not have enough staff to provide this service.In The Hague this is possible, but please inform in advance via E-mail to see if it fits.Business we can offer you aofdinner.

How can I cancel a business reservation?

Something can always come up in between, we understand that. You can cancel a business reservation free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. If not, we will have to invoice incurred costs.

Pay
Can I pay with cash?

No, we are a PIN only restaurant. That avoids robberies and an accompanying trauma to our staff. We also no longer have to buy expensive change from the banks and there are many other advantages.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, paying with a VISA or Mastercard is possible. This applies to both the (online) deposit as well as when paying at the restaurant.

Can I pay with Apple Pay?

Yes, paying with Apple Pay is possible. This applies to both the (online) deposit as well as at checkout in the restaurant.

I don't have iDEAL, how can I still make a deposit?

If you cannot make iDEAL payment, you can choose to pay the deposit via VISA or Mastercard credit card, KBC/CBC payment (Belgium), Giropay payment (Germany) or Apple Pay (worldwide).

Can we pay for a business lunch by invoice?

Yes you can. Payment by invoice is only possible if you have made a business request in advance. So not afterwards when you are done.We charge 12.50 euros administrative costs for making and sending the invoice.

Why is there a deposit with packages?

We require a deposit for arrangements because we prepare them in advance and incur costs for them. If you do not show up without notice (no-show), we lose too many costs because this happens too often. If you cancel a reservation at least 24 hours in advance, we will automatically refund the deposit.

Will I get my deposit back?

If you cancel a reservation at least 24 hours in advance, you will automatically receive a full refund of the deposit. Preferably use the link in the confirmation email we always send.If you just visit us, the deposit will be deducted at checkout.

Arrangements
Can we have a baby shower at your place?

No unfortunately not, baby showers are no longer possible in BY AMI.

Can we make reservations with you for a family affair?

Yes, group reservations are possible up to and including 12 people. More than 12 we cannot place and cannot properly cater for. Not even if you split the group into two parts smaller than 12!

Do you have a theater package for a performance at the new Luxor theater?

Yes indeed, we offer eeaan with which you can enjoy three delicious courses, vegan or non-vegan, and be ready nicely in time for the performance. It is a 1-minute walk to the new Luxor theater from our terrace.

Will we finish eating in time with your theater package?

Yes, we guarantee that you will finish the theater package on time and be in the Luxor's lobby on time. The Rotterdam location is a 1-minute walk from the new Luxor theater.

Do you have private dining options?

Groups up to 12 people can sit with us and business up to 20 people. (See groups). We cannot offer you a separate room or space. However, there is the possibility to reserve the mezzanine in Rotterdam by telephone contact, if available.

Can we make reservations with you for a departmental outing?

Yes, business group reservations are possible up to and including 20 people. More than 20 we cannot accommodate and cannot properly cater. Not even if you split the group into two parts smaller than 20!

Do you offer packages for groups, parties, businesses, departments, birthdays or special occasions?

Groups up to 12 people can sit with us and business up to 20 people.We just can't offer you a separate room or space. However, there is the possibility to reserve the mezzanine, if available.

Do you have business packages for lunch or dinner?

Yes, up to and including 20 people, business group reservations are possible and we can offer a shared lunch arrangement or multiple choice three-course dinner. More than 20 people we cannot accommodate and cannot properly cater. Not even if you split the group into two or more parts!

May we bring decorations to a High Tea?

No, sorry. Bringing decorations, decorations, ribbons, confetti and other items is not allowed. This will only cause a nuisance afterwards.However, you may bring helium air balloons to a High Tea.

Is it possible to make the High Tea vegan?

No, sorry. We source ingredients for the High Tea from multiple vendors and they do not offer vegan options.

Is it possible to make the High Tea lactose-free?

No, sorry. We source ingredients for the High Tea from multiple vendors and they do not offer vegan options.

Is it possible to make the High Tea gluten-free?

No, sorry. We source ingredients for the High Tea from multiple vendors and they do not offer vegan options.

Dishes
Are your dishes Halal?

Yes, we have several Halal dishes. These are also visible as such on the menus with a separate, clearly identifiable logo.

Do you have any vegan dishes?

Yes, we have a good choice of vegan dishes on the menu. We change the menus regularly and we have more and more choice of vegan dishes.

Do you have vegetarian dishes?

Yes, we have many dishes that are vegetarian! Think sandwiches, poke bowls, salads and even bites for between meals. Among the main dishes, our stuffed eggplant with bulgur and feta is popular.

Children & Dogs
Do you have a children's package or children's menu?

No, we do not have special menus for (small) children.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs that behave calmly and stay well by or under the table are not a problem. Preferably keep the dog on a leash near the table. From time to time other dogs in the restaurant will walk in or out and in doing so your dog should also remain calm.

Parking, Navigation & Directions
Can I park near BY AMI?

Yes, in Rotterdam there is the large paid parking garage Q-Park Boston-Seattle under our building, where you can pay with PIN, cash or credit card.In The Hague, the Q-Park Torengarage is the closest parking garage.TIP: swipe your payment card when entering. When you leave, and you use the same pass, it automatically debits the amount and you don't have to pass the pay machine separately. Q-park also offers the possibility to reserve a parking space in advance using the license plate of the car.

How do I navigate to restaurant BY AMI?

Does BY AMI have takeout or can I pick up an order?

Sorry, BY AMI no longer offers takeout, takeaway or takeout in any form.

Can I have BY AMI deliver food?

No, we don't deliver anymore.

Can I order from BY AMI online or place an order in advance?

No, that is no longer possible. We had an online store or webshop temporarily but it has closed.
